I’m also hoping the space will attract people looking for a beautiful space to host their event or group. For example a team away day, company planning meeting or yoga, a sound bath, or, for example, a writing or journaling or floristry workshop or course.
I’m open to hearing your ideas & I’ll welcome and facilitate what you need if I can.

You may have held events or workshops before or this may be your first time. I welcome interest from everyone & I’d love to hear your ideas.
A few things to keep in mind; you’ll need public liability insurance and all bookings are for adults only, please. Although we have had three child models and a dog ‘model’ here so you never know! If you have specific requirements for your shoot, please include this in your booking request.
You’ll be responsible for promotion & bookings. I can support by promoting it on instagram and in my monthly journal if the timing aligns.
About the Space:
The room is on the first floor. There are three steps up into the house and a staircase up to the Creative Space. The room is 5m long x 4m wide x 3.15m high with Victorian wooden floorboards and two large sash windows which look out onto a beautiful beech tree.
There’s an open fire with a marble fire surround and mantlepiece. If you’d like a cosy fire to be lit, please include this in your booking request. There’s a wooden chest of drawers & a large trestle table (96cm x 230cm) which seats 8-10 people or 10-12 if you’re standing.
The table can be taken out of the room in advance if you’d prefer floor space over table space, for a yoga class or sound bath for example.
There is a good wifi signal in the room.
We have a kettle, two cafetieres, mugs, milk jug, water jug, water glasses and side plates for refreshments available for use included in the fee.
Please provide tea, coffee, milk & refreshments.
The bathroom is on the second floor.
Where are we?
Our house is in Withington, south Manchester, we are two minutes walk from Wilmslow Road main bus route through south Manchester. For cyclists, we’re super close to the Fallowfield Loop linking Chorlton & Levenshulme. The closest tram stop is Burton Road in West Didsbury which is a 20-25 minute walk. There is free unrestricted parking on our road and on the adjacent streets.

I’m Rebecca & you may be wondering why I’d hire out our family home? For quite a few reasons really. My background is in the arts & I’m lucky to come from a supportive creative family. Creativity is so important to me & in the back of my mind I have been trying to think of a way to support art, craft & design practices again now I’m no longer a Contemporary Art Curator. Opening my home to you is my way to support your business or creative practice.
I started Thistle & Wild Collections as a Designer Maker in 2015 and it later developed into Thistle & Wild Interior Design Studio, so supporting independent and local businesses is very important to me.
Our home is my calm, cosy, restful place but it’s also a house that’s made to be filled with creative energy or to welcome people who’d love to soak it all up & host their group here.
